Letter from Recruitment Chair
If you’re wondering if the sorority life is right for you? I never in my life would’ve thought I’d have joined a sorority. I grew up with a little brother, played sports, worked out, and had only three close friends till I came to college. Never in a million years did I picture myself joining greek life. But once I came to college I longed for a group of women who could lift me up at my lowest times, and be my support system. My sisters come from all over the United States, and we all have different backgrounds, majors, hopes, and dreams. Despite all that, we all have one thing in common. We are the Do Good sisterhood.
Our chapter holds a reputation of academic excellence and outstanding campus accomplishment. Even though we encourage all members to join an additional organization on campus, we still prioritize school. My sisters are the most selfless, intelligent, inspirational and beautiful people I have ever encountered.
Delta Gamma is the only Greek organization that established their own Foundation in honor of a sister. Service for Sight supports four schools founded by Delta Gammas for the visually impaired and many other North American organizations that promote sight preservation by providing assistance to visually impaired children and adults. Through working hands-on with these organizations and creating our own fundraisers at Hofstra University, Service for Sight has become a cause close to my heart. Individual sisters may have other causes close to their hearts due to personal reasons, and without a second of hesitation, we support them passionately as well.
As a DG, you will leave college with fun memories, leadership experience, a philanthropic heart, and the best friends you could ever imagine. You will join a network of sisters from all of world; the friendship and networking is limitless.
If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to reach out!
Sincerely,
Grace Malley
